What does SB 1200 do? Background: Organizations recognized to be experts on child development agree an infant is a child aged under 18m or less. Developmentally 18-24m olds are more comparable to 2yr olds than children 12m old or under as shown by California’s own standards by authorities on child developmental. Problem: Under Title 22 the developmental stage of children 18m up to 24m is ignored and they are treated no different than a three month old infant. Solution: Respect the developmental stage of a child aged 18m to 24m by allowing them to occupy the same space that a 2yr old can. Brings continuity to age ranges already in effect in other child care and educational avenues in California

The survey is for ANYONE in California!! Just scan this QR code to complete and help up crack the 2,000 mark!! Our Proposal doesn't change the total number of children in care. It just creates more developmentally appropriate age range groupings for the youngest ages. It's in these first two years when we know growth and development between newborns and 18 month olds is at its highest. Newborns and 18 month olds shouldn't count in the same age range grouping!
Statewide Survey
Created in 1991, CPAC has consistently worked hard to improve children’s lives in group care settings throughout San Francisco. The body is led by four defining goals: All child care and early education in the city is of the highest quality and meets the diverse needs of children and their families. A full array of family-focused child care and early education options are available to families when and where they need it. All families can afford high-quality child care and early education for their children. San Francisco has a stable and professional child care and early education workforce. CPAC members are appointed by the San Francisco City and County Board of Supervisors and the Board of Education, in accordance with state and local law. A maximum of 25 members are appointed to the body.
